Kandila bookstore is a book marketing and distribution literary home dedicated exclusively to shining the spotlight on African authors and celebrating the depth, brilliance, and diversity of African literature. Kandila Bookstore was founded by Pen-Impact Writing and Publishing Enterprise Ltd., after many years of working closely with African authors, helping them to professionally publish their books through both our traditional and hybrid publishing services. 

Over time, we began to notice a painful pattern: African authors were creating powerful, meaningful work, yet still struggling to get their books into the hands of the readers who needed them. We knew something had to change, and we decided to contribute to that change. 

Kandila Bookstore was born out of a desire to bridge the gap, to make African books easily discovered, and to ensure African writers are truly seen, heard, and celebrated. Our mission is simple: to bring attention to African books, while giving African authors a strong and reliable platform to reach their ideal audience. At Kandila Books, we champion African literature, celebrate African authors, and pursue a global appreciation for the continent’s literary voice, one book at a time. We believe that African literature is beautiful, diverse, and worthy of global attention, and our goal is to highlight that beauty boldly and consistently, and to do it with excellence, integrity, and passion.

We are more than just a bookstore. We are a movement.
